Pedro M. de Armas, CPA, serves as a Partner in Verdeja, De Armas & Trujillo, LLP’s Audit Department. Pedro is responsible for overseeing the audit team and maintaining the firm’s quality standards in each engagement.
Pedro has more than 20 years of public and private accounting experience. He joined the firm in 1995 and was promoted to partner in 2001. He was recently honored as Top “40 under 40” by the CPA Technology Advisor Magazine.
He has developed a specialized interest in nonprofit organizations and foundations, including assisting in the creation and formation of the organization and ultimately conducting the financial statement and compliance audit.
A graduate of Florida International University (“FIU”) with a Bachelor of Accounting, Pedro received his Master of Accounting degree in 2000 from FIU. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a member of the Cuban American Certified Public Accountants Association and served as the Vice President.
Pedro’s civic involvement includes serving on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Miami-Dade County and as past Co-Chair of the United Way Community Investment Committee and past Co-Chair of the Agency Audit Committee. His responsibilities included performing an analysis of the nonprofit agency’s annual financial statements and providing guidance and recommendations to improve and alert the United Way of the financial condition of the nonprofit organization.
